Paradise on Earth

Having originated in bleak landscape, Islam conceives of Paradise as a garden. Humayun Tomb reflects this imagery. Not only it is situated on western bank of River Yamuna (now flowing about 2-3 km away), the sepulchre is situated in the centre of a square garden, separated by 4 causeways that further divides it into 4 squares & has water channels running in between.
